Current Resident: I find the area very quiet and mostly inhabited by the more elderly people and veterans. There are not many younger couples for a reason that I think is because the housing is so expensive many people can only afford apartments. Since I live in a popular tourist town, it's easy to say there are off-seasons when it comes to tourists. In the busy seasons, the traffic becomes really congested and nerve-wracking, especially with only one main road running through the whole town. Besides the traffic, I love the activities that allow people to explore and enjoy the beautiful scenery that South Lake Tahoe has to offer. Current Resident: I've lived here my whole life so I don't know much different. However, I do love it here. The schools have been great and you get the small town atmosphere with a big city 45 minutes away (Reno). Plus, Lake Tahoe is just 20 minutes away so you also have plenty to do during the summers. While the night life isn't all that exciting, you can almost always find something to do on the weekends. During the summers, there is a country concert series at TJ's Corral. Plus, they have concerts in the Park at Minden Park as well. During the winter both the Towns of Gardnerville and Minden put on events to celebrate Christmas Time. For example, the Town of Gardnerville puts on a Firework show at Heritage Park and Minden puts on the Gazebo Lighting at Minden Park. There is also a Parade of Lights that goes through both towns. Current Resident: I love cold springs because it's a more ideal place to raise my children and the schools are absolutely wonderful with the kids. It's a smaller community, everyone is friendly and neighborly. I feel safe about my children going outside and playing. It's also so much quieter then being in town which is consistently chaotic. There are a couple of convenient stores and a couple of restaurants. Also, there are a few nice family parks even a skate park and basketball quarts. Very family oriented and a beautiful place to raise a family. My reasoning for only four stars is because I feel that a few more things could be done for instance public transportation. If you don't have a vehicle or something happens to it and you need to get to town you're going to have a long walk ahead of yourself. Public transportation would definitely fix a huge part of any negative thoughts about cold springs. For the most part, I love cold springs and hope to see many more years to come.... Read 19 reviews

Current Resident: Nice, quiet place to live in. Only 10-15 minutes away from downtown. The Community are really nice and friendly. New houses are being built and growing very quickly. The freeways need a little work, traffic is becoming a little more congested during rush hours. Elementary, Middle School, and the High School is only 5 minutes away and are good schools.
