What I love: Shopping & Food: Good food and shopping, and Rego Park delivers. I’ve spent entire afternoons wandering through Rego Center and grabbing bites from the local spots. There’s this little Uzbek restaurant I discovered once, and it’s become one of my go-to places.
Convenience: Living here feels easy. The subway gets me where I need to go without too much drama, and I love that I can hop on a bus.
Community Vibes: The diversity has made me feel comfortable as a Afro-Latina, I have never had a bad experience in the neighborhood.
What could be better:
Parking Struggles: Driving here is not my favorite thing. I remember one time it took me almost 30 minutes to find a spot, and I was this close to giving up and taking the subway instead!
Needs More Green Spaces: I really wish there were more parks.
Building Maintenance: Some of the older buildings have their charm, but a little TLC wouldn’t hurt. I’ve noticed a few places that could use better upkeep.

The area is safe and family friendly. There are many shops and stores namely Marshalls, Burlington, Old Navy. Numerous restaurants and bars. All kinds of things.
I've lived here my whole life and I can say with confidence that it's a nice neighborhood. It's relatively safe and quiet. There are various public/private elementary, middle, and high schools in the area or nearby, close to a lot of public transportation going in all directions. Kids can also enjoy spending time in the many playgrounds in the surrounding area, or can also take a nice walk to Flushing Meadow Park which is close by. The subway stop is near the blvd, and you can catch a bus on almost every block going to Manhattan, Roosevelt, Flushing, Jamaica, & both the airports. It's more of a residential area for kids and seniors so there's not much nightlife, but you can catch the train or bus for those places. Food options are also pretty good and varied. We have a melting pot of cultures here with the biggest being the Buharian community so we have a lot of food options from those areas as well as Italian, Peruvian, Chinese, Colombian, Thai, etc. This place is pretty great.......
