Sophomore: I really enjoy attending Kent place. There’s a lot of good things about this school but this review is about what the school should improve on. 1. They never listen to student feedback even if they make it seem like they do. For example, sweatpants were banned this year even though they are essential to some students learning and feeling comfortable at school. This was a rule absolutely no one asked for or wanted, and now I spend 30 minutes trying to find something to wear because sweatpants are the base of my wardrobe. This also goes along with the “no phone rule” while I’m not particularly upset by this, I think it would’ve been better if the school let us be responsible for how we manage our own phone and screen time in order to learn how to do it in college. This was also a rule that no one asked for. However, it hasn’t affected much since I can do everything on my computer that I can do on my phone.... Read 71 reviews

Parent: Alhumdolillah, the school attempts to empathize the Quran and the Sunnah. The tuition is low which helps some people but may also be holding the school back a bit. I have not noticed any discrimination which is hard to find in Muslim schools in New Jersey... Read 17 reviews

Parent: My child loves NECCS. The principal has a very lovely yet strong demeanor. She is highly educated and relates well to the parents. The teachers are friendly and professional. They effectively reach each child with patience and skillful tools to educate every type of child learner. The school prioritizes safety internally/externally and that means a lot to know your child is in a protective environment. Senior: Marion P Thomas was the first 'American' school I attended. I started just 2 months after I came to live in America and It was a smooth transition. Thanks to the wonderful staff and the administration there who helped me to transition from the school system in Guyana to the American school system. The teachers are patient, understanding, and always willing to go above and Beyond. There is nothing I would change about Marion P. Parent: From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I knew that Far Brook School would be perfect for my daughter. Not only was she recently accepted by four of the top private high schools in New Jersey, she has graduated with a greater sense of who she is, what she believes in, and a remarkable respect for an individual’s race, creed, color, culture and life choices. Far Brook is inclusive, the faculty is dynamic and engaging, and the head of school, Amy Zeibart is superb. She navigated the difficulties of this past year with incredible grace under pressure and foresight, and with understanding and empathy. Because of her diligence and that of Far Brook’s creative, dedicated and resourceful faculty, not to mention its remarkable student body and their parents, my daughter was able to attend school in person her entire eighth grade year, and there is no doubt in my mind that she will remember her years at Far Brook and benefit from them for the rest of her life.... Parent: Oak Knoll Pre-K program is a wonderful catholic education. The program is very nurturing, while still giving the children what they need to learn and grow into young children. Parent: Far Hills Country Day has done a great job educating our children. I can hardly imagine a better elementary school experience. Each of our children is different, and the teachers are excellent and always willing to work with us to provide the education each child needs, be it a little more support or challenge. When we decided on a private school education for our kids, this is what we wanted, and Far Hills has provided it very well. The school also stresses and instills good character traits, like leadership, honesty, and respect, and it is mindful of the changing world for children, parents, and educators. The pressure on children seems higher than when I was a kid (with evidence around us to support that), and the teachers and staff do a great job of focusing on a balanced well-being for our children in addition to challenging them academically. Alum: The Academy is definitely a school worth spending 4 of your high school years at. Majority of the teachers were always there when you needed them both academically and emotionally. If you are the type who prefers smaller schools, Our Lady is perfect for that need! The closeness you feel with your fellow classmates is something rare that I feel you can only truly discover at this school. The most significant of my experiences were definitely in the religion classes making it one of my favorite subjects alongside history and English. My only critique would be for the administration. Lots of things were made unclear at time by them and some decisions didn't really make sense for the school, followed by a poor choice in certain hires here and there. Parent: Holy Trinity school is a special place that offers a strong sense of community and academics. As a parent of a child that began last year in 1st grade, one of the things that stood out to me, aside from the well-qualified and dedicated teachers and staff, is the traditions and culture in place that provide connections between grades and facilitates a family-like atmosphere. My 1st grader really looked up to his 8th grade buddy, and he was a great role model for him. The new principal is also wonderful. The academics are rigorous, but I have no doubt my son will be prepared for not just high school and beyond, but also life. I also want to mention the flexible aftercare and hot lunch program has been so helpful to this busy family! It’s hard to say what I would like to see change. I know the school is working towards fundraising to put in air-conditioning, and if I had to pick something, that would probably be it. Parent: Our children have been in the school for five years, and in that period, we have gotten to know the faculty very well. My children love their school! Since the beginning they have been happy to go to school every day. Quite a change from even high quality local public schools: more attention, smaller classes, more focus on teaching behavioral qualities such as kindness, more ambitious with regards to the curriculum, and more focus on getting the children to get along and form a community. Parent: The best decision we ever made as a family was having our kids at St. Elizabeth. We started my younger son in pre-k in 2018 and haven’t looked back. My older son joined in 7th and 8th grade in 2020 and my only parenting regret was not having him there from the beginning. My 8th grader was definitely prepared in every way for high school despite being in the middle of a pandemic. The math, language arts and sciences at St. Elizabeth is superior. No question as to whether or not they will be prepared for high school. In addition to the academic journey they are on, the spiritual journey has been one the biggest facets of our lives. From our first holy communion to a confirmation; finding that special place in our hearts and minds. We can never thank the staff and administration enough for all that they have done for our family through the years. They truly care about each and every student and family in the building. Parent: Weekday school is a true gem of a school. The small class sizes, the approachable/ knowledgeable teachers and the director are just a few reasons why Weekday School is so special. The teachers are well skilled with various Masters degrees in early childhood and special education, the director takes her time to get to know each and every student in the school, and the small class sizes allow for more individualized instruction. Alum: I went to school here from pre-school until 8th grade. I had an amazing time at this school as I have made lifelong friends here. Almost all of the teachers treat students with respect, are great at teaching, and prepare students for high school and anything else to come in their lives within the next few years. Parent: Living in Cranford, we sent our oldest child to Kindergarten at St. Michael's because it offered full day K with before and after care on premises (I didn't like the idea of her being bused to a separate location for after care). We fully intended to transfer her to public school for first grade, but we were so impressed by the school, that we decided to stay and she wound up graduating from SMS in 2018. (Our youngest is still in St. Michael's). Here is why we decided it was worth it to pay tuition to send our children to St. Michael's: before and after care on premises, small class sizes, family environment (this is not an exaggeration, we literally spend holidays with the families we met at SMS), state of the art computer and science labs, extracurricular activities and amazing teachers. In high school, our oldest child finished her sophomore year with straight A's; I credit her high school performance to the strong academic foundation she built during her time at SMS ....
