2025 Best Catholic Boarding Schools in the Los Angeles Area

Senior: I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at FSHA so far. The teachers are incredibly passionate and the VAPA and engineering departments are really strong. The community at FSHA is unlike any I have seen; a majority of the students are warm, friendly, and willing to talk to you. There are so many opportunities and clubs that you can do that are unique to FSHA. There are teachers who will challenge and push you, but they are always willing to help. The academic environment is more collaborative than competitive. Even though FSHA is Catholic, the school is accepting of all faiths. However, I wish there was more of a connection between the day and boarding students. In addition, our school schedule has changed 4 times during the past 4 years, making every year difficult to adjust to a new schedule. The diversity of the school has been slowly improving over the years, which I'm happy to see. I will definitely miss my time on the hill when I graduate!... Read 192 reviews

Senior: Bosco has been a good experience and a great community to be a part of. The teachers are very understanding. The best part has been the friends I made and the worse part would be the food. As far as what I would like to see changed, it would have to be seeing the music and art building renovated (it's old) and our gym remodeled. Alum: I appreciated the readiness academic counselors had in regards to college readiness for its students. There is an emphasis on rigor in terms of classes, yet a lack of diversity or volume of rigorous classes. The teachers and administration were alright for the most part, providing support when asked, although many faculty responded to emails late or didn't grade assessments until the end of the semester. School spirit is lacking at many sports games, however, outstanding performances from points like boys basketball or girls volleyball shows the potential of superb school spirit. Parent: My son attended 9 years at SCA. He is a remarkable human being. He was in the band, and in 7th grade the Drum Major. As an 8th grader he was one of the top officers. The academics are rigorous, but not over the top. The curriculum includes 1:1 laptops, in addition to traditional subjects, Math, Language Arts, etc, every child gets Spanish, Music, P.E. and Art.
