From Clintonville Academy
In 1978, an engaged group of parents and teachers started Clintonville Academy wanting a high-performing, community-oriented school focused on whole child development with a hands-on approach to primary school learning.
In 2023, our priorities remain the same – as does our commitment to meeting all of these needs at a cost well within reach of an independent school experience.
Our approach is not radical, it’s personal – to us, to our families, and to the community we serve. We look forward to meeting you as you explore new opportunities for your student.

Our child just graduated from C.A. and we couldn't be more happy with his level of preparedness heading into high school. The small class sizes and individual attention should be classified as their super powers! Each teacher knew how to work with our child and empowered him to be independent. He walked away from his years there a confident student and person who knows how to advocate for himself in a respectful way.
The parent community is also incredible. We aren't all from the same parts of Columbus, but we all feel connected while we're on this mission of education.
We hope the school is able to bring back sports soon, we'd love to see that up and running again!

We chose Clintonville Academy for the small classes and the school's commitment to building character in our children. Our kiddos are thriving academically as they are learning the value of volunteerism and being active members of their community.
There is a strong sense of community at CA. The older kids are paired with younger buddies for the school year, and they spend time together regularly, which I love. The school creates events that include families, such as special lunches and FunFest in the spring. Parents and guardians play an important role in the daily operations of the school, serving as office assistants, lunch aides, room parents, weekend cleaners, etc. There are always opportunities to involve families and build relationships with teachers and administrators.
CA has been a great experience for our family. Its small size means that we have to go outside of the school for sports and we almost always have to pack lunches, but my children are happy and thriving.

My son attended CA for seventh and eighth grade, and sending him there was a fantastic decision. The small class sizes allowed teachers to spend time to focus on students’ needs in a way his old school never could have achieved. The teachers and staff demonstrated a level of care we have never seen in another school. My son is so well prepared for high school thanks to the rigorous curriculum paired with such a supportive environment. The school welcomes parental involvement while creating the distance needed for kids to build independence. If I could go back in time, I’d send my son to CA for pre-K through 8th grade, but even just a couple years in this school made a world of difference in my son’s educational and emotional development.
