As someone who has attended Belleville East, I can confidently say that this school is incredible for the area if you are dedicated enough. There are dozens of options for academics and extracurriculars, ensuring that you're able to try out a variety of things to prepare for your future. However, this is coming from the perspective of an Honor's student; I personally believe that regular level classes are awful and should only be taken if truly necessary to pass. Although I have had some teachers that I truly dislike, the majority of teachers I have had are very skilled and personable. The people as well are very accepting, intelligent, and willing to make friends outside of their middle school friend groups that have carried over. As long as you're not acting out of line, your experience at Belleville East will be invaluable. The skills (and smells of the locker room) will stick with you forever. Go Lancers.
My experience at Belleville East High School has been really good. I felt a little lost when I first enrolled as a freshman, but with my brother (a senior at the time) guiding me through everything, it didn't take long for me to adjust to the high school lifestyle. I ended up joining the Belleville East Fine Arts program (includes marching band, concert band, and jazz band) my freshman years, and although I regretted the decision at first, I'm glad I stuck with it because it has been the highlight of my high school career. The teachers are really nice and friendly as well as the administration and faculty. The campus is really nice and somewhat well-kept, and is pretty spread out. Overall, the experience at Belleville East High School is definitely one to remember.
Belleville East High School has been a wonderful school to be a part of. I have always felt safe in school. There are many academic and extracurricular opportunities. Some of these opportunities are the SLU dual credit classes and classes in the cave which are rigorous and challenging. There are also many clubs such as the Spanish Club, History Club, Ecology Club, etc. These clubs and classes provide options to get involved. During my time there I have been a part of the Spanish Club, Art Club, Craft Club, and History Club. I have also been a part of different honor societies such as the National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and the History Honor Society. These societies have provided opportunities to volunteer. Participating in these opportunities has allowed me to interact with different types of people and gain friends. Overall my experience is positive but, I would appreciate it if the students and the teachers could work together to control the traffic in the hallway.
