McIntire School of Commerce Reviews

I will be joining the Masters in Management of IT with the McIntire School of Commerce in the Fall, 2023. This will be a great opportunity to learn the alignment between business and technology, and to connect with people with different backgrounds and experiences.
The coursework is split into four modules. The professors always use contemporary examples during their instruction, while also encouraging students to share anecdotes from their own experiences. (Each class includes a diverse group ranging in age and experience, which allows for many interesting anecdotes!) Each module includes at least one team project which helps students to quickly put into practice the things they are learning.
The MS MIT program allowed me to pursue a degree from UVA without having to move to Charlottesville. It was a full time curriculum, despite the fact that most classes (which were in the DC area) were on weekends. In addition, the class also enjoyed "in residence" periods in Charlottesville for a week at a time, which allowed the class to get to know each other socially. (I don't know if the latter is still offered, post-COVID.)
