Junior: I've enjoyed my time at NC State greatly! I have made lifelong friends and valuable career connections, found my path in life, and established the kind of person I want to be in life going forward. While there were some issues with food on campus, I was able to find options that worked for what I preferred and have been cooking and preparing food on my own for the past two years (due to expense of a meal plan). I find the campus to be fairly walkable or have transportation to and from Centennial campus for students who have classes on both campuses (which I do not). I like the outside area and places that Hillsborough and downtown Raleigh has to offer, but there is a real issue with housing on campus and in the surrounding local area. It is quite expensive, and on-campus housing is nearly impossible to get after freshman year. Freshman: My experience at Wayne State has benefited my growth as an individual. I have immersed myself in the community through living in midtown Detroit, where art museums and learning opportunities are abundant. I have had the opportunity to grow as an athlete by being a part of the Wayne State University cheer team, which will be competing at the national level at the NCA competition in Daytona, Florida in April. My classes are challenging and engaging and I feel that they will be able to prepare me for not only a career, but expand my knowledge and collaboration with other students from all walks of life. Wayne State is in the top 100 public universities and students from around the globe study at Wayne State to gain the education that will make them successful in all areas of their life. A couple of things that I would change are the financial burden of college and the food. Alum: Johnson C. Smith University was a great college. I received my bachelors of science degree majoring in public health. The public health department was amazing, the staff was really nice and they were there when I needed them pertaining to pursuing my graduate studies. I also was on the women’s tennis team for four years. We placed second overall in the championships located in Baltimore, Maryland. Freshman: I love how small the campus is, it's really easy to get around and find your classes. It's also such a beautiful area, scenery is gorgeous. It's a very welcoming community and there are many activities to participate in so that people are able to meet others and make close bonds. Professors are really nice and always are willing to help you if you have any questions or concerns about assignments. If there was anything I had to change, I would say reliable AC and heating. It does work but there are moments where you have to request to help from campus to get it fixed. Sophomore: Overall Michigan State Unviersity has been great for me. I found it relatively easy to find friends that are kind and respectful which I know is a struggle for some people. There are so many clubs and intermural teams that you can join where you can meet new people. I've had challenging classes but going to help rooms is super helpful for me. They also offer lots of online courses for students that might need to work while they attend university. Its easy to feel like you are apart of a community here. Freshman: My overall experience with Grand Canyon University (GCU) is overall very positive. I love the vibe of campus and I have met some of the most amazing people here. The housing is so nice. There is apartment on campus that are gorgeous and the dorms are not like regular dorm they are super nice to! Something I wish we had more of was food options, we are a restaurant based campus, so we don’t have a dining hall which can be hard. Sophomore: Though I have had a few proffesors that have been dificult to work with and get in contact with, I have also had a lot of amazing proffesors and classes that make up for it. I am currently in a 3-week session class in between semesters that I thuroughly enjoy. The proffesor makes sure that everything is working well and the course work relates to the class. The classes I have taken towards my major have been incredible! The way the course work flows makes it very easy to understand and goes at a very good pace. Senior: In my time as an undergraduate student here at Chaminade University, I have found great opportunities to explore new avenues and career choices while remaining home and connected to my community. The ability to take online courses while remaining a full-time day student has been great, because I am able to pursue other ventures like internships and jobs outside of school while still completing all my necessary credits. One difficulty I have found in my time here is that courses are sometimes cancelled due to low enrollment, and if they are a graduation requirement it becomes a complex process to ensure enrollment so one can take the courses.
